The word video comes from the Latin video (I see), from the Greek verb ideo[to see; Gr: ιδέω].

In modern Greek:
a) ido: to see; fut. of “I see” [Gr: ιδώ]
b) idea: idea [Gr: ιδέα]
c) video: video (loanword) [Gr: βίντεο]
