Etymology of archives

The word archives came from the Latin archivum, which is a transliteration of the Greek archion (archive, record office; αρχείον)

Η λέξη archives (αρχείο, -α) προήλθε από το λατινικό archivum, το οποίο αποτελεί μεταγραφή του ελληνικού αρχείον.
