Etymology of light, lucidity and lucern

The word light derices from the Latin lux (light; gen. lucis), which derives from the Greek word λύκη (lyci; light, the dawn)

β) λυκαυγές: shining of the dawn [lycavges]

γ) λύχνος: lucern [lychnos]
